Quoting Ally1003:
Until I became a "gamma" I never thought I'd sport a bumper sticker or wear a tee-shirt with those words. But let me tell you about my grandchildren!!! My lil' Connor is 2 years and 2 months old. I fell in love with him before he was born, but when I saw his birth and held him for the first time I was beyond repair. Watching him grow and develop over these past two years have been the greatest blessing I've ever received. To see the wonder in his eyes, and then to see the understanding and/or comprehension take its place is something indescribable. Recently, my daughter was ill so I visited her to help take care of the children. I was preparing dinner and Connor walked up to me, put his hands on his hips and said matter-of-factly "Gamma, ju eat yet?" I almost lost it! and picked him up with all the swiftness I could and squeezed him so tight. I have a granddaughter also, her name is Cadence. Her purpose in life is to look absolutely adorable, smile and be precious. She is definitely a mommy's girl and until a visit to my house when she was 4 months old, she wanted nothing to do with anyone. My daughter and I went shopping and I carried Cadence around in this magnificient carrier called a "mae-tai". It is a bundling device one straps around themselves and holds the baby close to their breast. She and I bonded that day and those 4 hours of holding her changed our relationship considerably. Now, she too, looks forward to seeing "gamma" and offers the biggest, brightest smile and her arms for my taking! Love those babies!
